Adam Schwartz

Adam Schwartz, CPA, CA, BComm

 Adam Schwartz is a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant and American Certified Public Accountant with extensive experience working in both countries. After working numerous years with one of the "Big 4" accounting firms in Toronto, Adam was presented with a unique opportunity to practice in the United States. He was aggressively "poached" by one of his American clients to take up a role with an exciting, fast-growing enterprise in the United States and lead their accounting department as their Controller.

 

After a few years in this role, Adam was promoted to Chief Financial Officer. He became responsible for overseeing all aspects of the financial operations of a company with hundreds of employees, including the Human Resources and IT departments.  His role was further advanced by being the key individual responsible for raising capital and closing deals. He expanded his contacts in the industry and developed a very positive relationship with lenders and other stakeholders.

 

While flourishing in this CFO role for years, Canada was calling and he decided it was time to focus on his home-town of Toronto. The time was right and the climate receptive, so the decision was made to start Schwartz Chartered Professional Accountants.

 

Throughout his many years of "in the trenches" experience, Adam has learned the in's and out's of how to run, grow and develop a small business into a regional powerhouse.  His history of raising capital, creating control structures and relationship management with stakeholders has given Adam a vast library of knowledge and experience on how to successfully manage a business.

 

Adam firmly believes in the "value added" approach to accounting. In other words, accounting needs to work for the business owner or individual.
